Vascular Surgery
The Vascular Surgery Clinic deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the circulatory and lymphatic systems, including
- varicose veins of the lower limbs or conditions after thrombophlebitis
- atherosclerosis of the peripheral and carotid arteries, aneurysms of the abdominal and thoracic aorta and visceral arteries
- chronic venous insufficiency
- treatment of lower limb ulcers and wounds, including those of vascular origin
- diseases of the large intestine and anus
- proctological diseases (e.g. hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal fistulas, anal polyps, cancer, inflammation of the anus)
Ambulatory tests/procedures available:
- Doppler Duplex ultrasound – lower limbs, upper limbs, abdominal aorta, carotid and vertebral arteries and iliac arteries
- sclerotherapy (obliteration, injection of varicose veins, so-called spider veins) – a procedure aimed at closing blood vessels. It consists in injecting a sclerosing fluid into the lumen of the vein, causing fibrosis and permanent anastomosis of the vein. A qualifying visit to a vascular surgeon and a Doppler ultrasound test are required for the procedure. All preparation for the procedure is provided by the doctor during the consultation. The procedure takes only 15-20 minutes and is virtually painless
