„Koperta Życia” (Life-saver envelope) program at the Gizińscy Medical Centre
To help and save lives are our most important goals. The Gizińscy Medical Centre as a responsible medical facility is involved in health-related initiatives. We are starting our “Koperta Życia” campaign.
An important subject of interest at Gizińscy Medical Centre (CMG) is Corporate Social Responsibility, i.e. the idea of the Center undertaking voluntary activities and initiatives in many different areas for the benefit of society.
Gizińscy Medical Centre joined the “Bydgoska Koperta Życia” (Life-saver envelope Bydgoszcz) Program in 2022 by preparing for its implementation in June 2023. The Program was initiated by the Mayor of Bydgoszcz, the Bydgoszcz Council of Seniors and the National Association of Pensioners. The program is substantively supervised by the Provincial Ambulance Station.
The Life-saver envelope is an information card with current information about one’s health and basic personal data, including list of medications taken, past illnesses, and allergies to medications. The idea is to keep the information in the refrigerator, a place available in almost every home. It is very important to remember to sign the information card and enter the date of completion.
Once you have completed the information sheet, place it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator. You should also remember to place the attached sticker on the fridge, thanks to which, if necessary, medical services will be able to quickly find information about your health. In addition, it is worth having the information card with you at all times, e.g. in your wallet, so that it can save your life when you go outside.
The President of the Management Board, Jędrzej Giziński, emphasizes that due to our 35 years of experience in holistic approach to health, our commitment to taking care of the health and life of patients, we decided to promote this Program among the community, because it fits into the framework of activities in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility. We are the only medical unit in Bydgoszcz, and probably even in the whole province, to implement and promote the Program together with the City of Bydgoszcz. We want to promote it in the society in general, and not only direct it to the elderly. Our strategy is that health cannot be limited to a specific age group, but to all people regardless of age. By adhering to the principle that making good always pays off and that it is possible to combine personal good with the common good.
Therefore, the Gizińscy Medical Centre has prepared appropriate sets of Life-saver envelopes for patients, regardless of their age. The set includes an envelope with an information card and a fridge sticker. Each patient who comes to the General Registration desk as well as the patient leaving the hospital after surgery will receive such a package to use by themselves or to give to his nearest and dearest or friends.
The plan is to actively cooperate with local institutions and social organizations to integrate activities, and thus achieve the highest possible impact on the community through the implementation and promotion of the program. For us, it is a priority for Bydgoszcz and the province to become an example for other regions in Poland, how to effectively implement such initiatives and contribute to improving the quality of life of all residents, says the Center’s president Jędrzej Giziński.
The medical information placed in the Life-saver envelope may be decisive in conducting rescue activities and saving your life or the lives of your loved ones.
