Xanthelasma are unaesthetic yellowish lesions appearing as lumps on the eyelids, also known as xanthomas.
Indications for the procedure:
- Small Xanthelasma
- Xanthelasma covering a large part of the eyelid
The course of the procedure
Like any surgery, the procedure is preceded by a medical consultation. The procedure is short and is performed under local anesthesia. It is recommended to remove small xanthelasma to prevent them from growing. In some cases, the wound dressing post the excision of xanthelasma may require the use of a skin graft.
Post-treatment recommendations
Upon discharge, each patient will receive information about individual treatment during recovery from the attending physician.
The final effect of the surgery can be assessed after at least 6 months.
